A new partnership between Hindustan Zinc Ltd and Tata Steel aims to do exactly that. The two companies are building on their long-term partnership to take their low-carbon zinc solution, EcoZen, to the next level, helping to reduce emissions in the steel industry.
Greener zinc for a cleaner steel industry:
Hindustan Zinc Ltd and Tata Steel are building on their long-term partnership to take their low-carbon zinc solution, EcoZen, to the next level, helping to reduce emissions in the steel industry. EcoZen, a low-carbon zinc, is made using renewable energy, with a carbon footprint of less than one tonne of CO2 per tonne of zinc, a reduction of 75 per cent compared to the global average.
Lower emissions across industries:
Zinc plays a vital role in protecting steel against corrosion in industries like infrastructure, automotive, renewable energy, and electronics, to name a few. Using EcoZen can result in a reduction of 400 kg of CO2 emissions per tonne of galvanized steel, compared to conventional zinc, helping industries lower their scope 3 emissions and become more sustainable.
