GE Aerospace has appointed Shilpa Gupta as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for its Indian operations and Site Leader of the John F. Welch Technology Centre (JFWTC) in Bengaluru. Gupta is a former Gas Power engineering leader at GE Vernova and JFWTC Site Leader. Gupta replaces Alok Nanda, who has taken up a global position as General Manager of Services Engineering at GE Aerospace.
India at the Heart of Engineering and Innovation:
India is also playing an integral role in GE Aerospace’s engineering and innovation efforts. The team in Bengaluru is working on the development of propulsion technologies as well as services such as dust-ingestion testing and 360 foam wash. The digital teams are also working on the enhancement of engine maintenance apps using artificial intelligence and digital twins.
Investing in the Future Generation of Engineers:
GE Aerospace Foundation has also introduced its Next Engineers Programme in partnership with United Way in Bengaluru. The Edison Engineering Development Program, with its aim to develop leaders in engineering, marked its 20th anniversary in India in 2025.
