Mercedes-Benz India has added two limited-series models to its SUV lineup, known as the GLE and GLS Night Editions, as part of their exclusive and personalized luxury vehicle lineup. These special edition models belong to the limited run series and are meant to be produced in limited numbers for sale in India.
According to the company, the Night Edition vehicles are derived from some of the most popular luxury vehicles of Mercedes-Benz India and are marked by exclusive styling inside-out, apart from featuring many more premium features than the standard variants of the cars.
Priced starting from INR 1.41 crore, the Night Edition GLS 450 has a starting price tag of INR 1.43 crore. On the other hand, the GLE 300d is available at INR 1.05 crore, while the GLE 450 is offered at INR 1.14 crore.
Unique features in styling and interiors:
These luxury vehicles come with two unique body colors, namely Alpine Grey and Obsidian Black. Alpine Grey is an exclusive shade of color offered only to the Night Edition GLE and GLS models. Inside the cabins of the SUVs, one would find black nappa leather seats with Anthracite open-pore oak wood trim.
Additionally, the GLE Night Edition has been equipped with AIRMATIC suspension technology designed to improve ride quality and distinguish it from other variants of the GLE range.
Speaking about this latest development, Santosh Iyer, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India, remarked that his company is constantly engaged in the process of developing innovative products through new launches, facelifts, and special editions to create more value for their customers in the luxury SUV market in India.
Furthermore, he highlighted that Indian customers are becoming more inclined towards owning personalized automobiles in the luxury SUV class.
India is among leading markets for GLE and GLS:
According to Mercedes-Benz, India is currently one of the leading markets globally for the company’s GLE and GLS luxury SUV models. The GLS ranks first amongst its best-selling luxury SUVs in India.
The GLE Night Edition is powered by either a 2.0-litre diesel or a 3.0-litre petrol engine paired with a 9G-TRONIC transmission. The GLS Night Edition is available with inline six-cylinder petrol and diesel engine options.
The launch comes as luxury vehicle manufacturers continue expanding limited-edition offerings in India to cater to rising demand for differentiated products and premium ownership experiences.
