Performance by Division continues to remain consistent:

In April 2026, the Mahindra Trucks and Buses Division made sales of 1,270 vehicles, compared to 1,196 vehicles in the same period last year, reporting a 6 per cent increase. This was attributed to a 9 per cent rise in cargo vehicles to 749 units and a 3 per cent rise in passenger vehicles to 521 units.

SML Mahindra posted better growth figures, with sales totaling 1,741 units compared to 1,512 units sold in April 2025. Passenger cars recorded 19 percent growth in sales with an output of 1,331 units, whereas commercial cars rose by 5 percent to post a figure of 410 units.

Outlook for industry sees some moderation in the short term:

Vinod Sahay, Executive Chairman of SML Mahindra and President of Trucks & Buses segment at M&M, said that the commercial vehicle industry witnessed moderation in April due to entering a new financial year along with inflationary concerns and geo-political tensions.

The company stated that they are still keeping track of risks related to the supply chain and increasing prices of inputs, which could impact demand going forward.

Nevertheless, the April results show steady demand, aided by the need for passenger movement and logistics activities.
