Cyient Semiconductors Private Ltd has introduced seven new Gallium Nitride (GaN) power components that are specifically designed for the Indian market. This is the first product range of GaN products from the company. The products have been created using the GaN technology from Navitas Semiconductor and are expected to be a huge leap forward in India’s indigenous power semiconductor industry. This new product range has been designed to cater to the growing demand for high efficiency products in AI data centers, telecommunications, consumer fast charging, industrial power systems, and e-mobility systems.
Partnership with Navitas Semiconductor :
The partnership was signed by both companies in December 2025, which would enable customers in India to buy commercially available GaN products while also ensuring local support for the same. This would encourage the indigenous manufacturing drive in India. The partnership will allow Cyient to license GaN technology of Navitas.
Advantages of Gallium Nitride (GaN):
There are several significant benefits of GaN power semiconductors over the conventional silicon semiconductors, such as increased switching speed, reduced conduction losses, and improved thermal efficiency. These benefits help the system designer achieve minimal power loss, minimize system size, and improve overall system performance. The early GaN product range from Cyient targets application requirements up to 650V, such as USB-PD chargers, AC-DC power supplies, and charging systems for electric mobility.
Future roadmap & manufacturing:
The future plan includes the expansion of the GaN product range through partnering with local OSATs. The licensing agreement is expected to make it possible for local manufacture of GaN products within the country, India. The launch will concentrate on ecosystem readiness, scalability, technology participation, and value creation amid growing demands in the market. The first range of products includes highly integrated GaN products in easy-to-use DPAK form factor.
Company leadership remarks:
According to Suman Narayan, CEO of Cyient Semiconductors, “The launch of our GaN-based power ICs marks the beginning of an expansive range of GaN products from Cyient Semiconductors and a strong footprint in the world of high-performance power semiconductors. With our first family of GaN power ICs based on the highly successful GaN platform of Navitas, we will further power the innovation of next-gen power solutions. These power solutions are required for addressing rising efficiency and power requirements of artificial intelligence infrastructures, industrial systems, consumer power, and e-mobility products.”
Chris Allexandre, President & CEO of Navitas Semiconductor, added, “As we pursue the vision of a robust local supply chain and manufacturing operations in India for Navitas 2.0, India holds the status of being a vital market. We are delighted with this collaboration with Cyient, which will help us establish a sound local support network for our customers while transitioning to our new India strategy for GaN-based product enablement.”
Sampling dates:
According to the company’s estimates, the sampling period of its first GaN-based products will begin by June 2026. If you need datasheets, samples, and other support, contact Cyient Semiconductors.
