Bijliride opens EV franchise doors for local entrepreneurs

Industrywiz Daily updates

The newcomer, Bijliride, has introduced a novel franchise model that will help entrepreneurs enter the emerging Indian electric mobility market. It has been able to leverage investment, technology, and a profit-sharing component to quickly scale up EV adoption. Can the local business approach help increase clean mobility for large cities?

Franchise Model for EV Business Expansion:

Bijliride has rolled out the Franchise-Owned, Franchise-Operated model and has made significant progress in its expansion plan. The company also has expansion plans in Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chennai, and Delhi-NCR to enroll over 20 franchises and place 5,000 electric two-wheelers in India by FY 2026.

“The business model is centred around enabling local entrepreneurs, SMEs, and mobility operators to be part of the EV ecosystem. That also helps Bijliride to scale in a capital-efficient manner and in a manner that is driven by the community as well as supports the decentralization of electric mobility in the cities.”

Support, investment, and profit sharing:

The franchise partners will be provided with the exclusive use of the bijliridefleet management system. Partnerships between the companies and automobile manufacturers as well as financing bodies have eased the process of the purchase of the vehicle.

The business model adopts a 70:30 profit-sharing mechanism in favor of Bijliride and the franchisees. Requiring an investment of Rs.14-16 lakhs for a 50-vehicle network, the breakeven point can be achieved in about 13 months by the partners. Although Bijliride looks after technology, leads, and brand, the franchisees are responsible for handling the locality, the vehicles, and the customers.

Leadership view and long-term vision

“At Bijliride, our goal has always been to make electric mobility scalable, profitable, and inclusive,” said Shivam Sisodiya, CEO & Co-Founder, Bijliride. “With the franchise model, we’re opening doors for local business owners to become active participants in the EV revolution supported by our brand credibility, digital ecosystem, and operational know-how. We believe this model will not only empower entrepreneurs to achieve financial independence but also help accelerate the transition toward clean mobility in India. Our vision is to build a trusted network of partners driving sustainable change on the ground.”

With this move, Bijliride aims to build a more inclusive, sustainable, and locally driven urban mobility network across india.
