Autodesk has updated its online store for India into a completely self-service digital procurement platform, indicating a renewed focus on a digital-first approach targeted towards startups, freelancers, entrepreneurs, and small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs).
This comes in light of the fact that the Indian digital economy is seeing rapid growth, as there are 958 million users of the Internet, as per the latest report Internet in India. Autodesk says that this new platform has been designed to make things easier when it comes to the discovery, evaluation, procurement, and management of professional design and make technologies.
Autodesk has observed that there have been shifts in the way that professionals and SMBs buy technology solutions.
Startups and freelancers drive adoption:
Since its launch in 2017, the Autodesk Store has evolved into one of the company’s key customer acquisition channels in India. According to Autodesk, startups, freelancers and emerging businesses now account for more than 50 per cent of first-time customers using the platform.
The trend is also expanding beyond major metropolitan areas. Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities contribute more than 20 per cent of Autodesk’s online customer base, highlighting growing demand for professional design tools among businesses operating outside traditional urban centres.
Kamolika Gupta Peres, Vice President, Autodesk India and SAARC, said digital engagement has become the preferred mode of interaction for India’s creator community, including designers, manufacturers, engineers and animators. She added that customer insights and purchasing preferences helped shape a more intuitive and locally relevant platform experience.
Flexibility in purchasing plans for growing organizations:
The latest platform supports a number of different purchase models aimed at meeting the needs of freelancers and small firms.
The software is available on the platform in more than 60 Autodesk products with various payment options ranging from UPI, debit card, credit card, and net banking. Moreover, the platform offers monthly subscriptions with AutoCAD Web being priced at ₹1,062 per month, helping users to get access to software depending on their project needs without committing for a longer period.
Moreover, Autodesk Flex lets users make token purchases based on usage with the minimum price set at ₹29,300 for 100 tokens.
Furthermore, the users get a facility for quoting and purchasing multiple products, subscription renewal and GST requirements in an entirely self-managed manner.
Increasing availability of design technologies:
According to Autodesk, the move will help reduce the hurdles of using the software technology, especially among first-time adopters and new startups. Autodesk is optimistic that the availability of the design and engineering software technology will foster innovation, product development, and business expansion across multiple industries.
This new step is in line with the efforts of Autodesk in broadening its scope in India and aligning with the new digital-driven business environment in India.
