Air India Express has unfurled its inaugural international scheduled service with the newest Boeing 737-8 MAX (VT-RNT) aircraft. This service with advanced passenger facilities, operated on the route of New Delhi to Muscat, symbolizes a major step towards the modernization of Air India Express’s fleet as a part of the Tata group. The carrier continues its rapid expansion.
Fleet Modernization Milestone:
Air India Express launched its maiden overseas commercial flight with its brand new Boeing 737-8 MAX, aircraft registration VT-RNT, which took off from New Delhi to Muscat. This is a major move for the modernization process initiated by the Tata Group.
This aircraft was delivered straight from the Boeing factory in Seattle and boasts improvements in line with the new branding and identity of the airline. Some of these improvements include ergonomically designed seating with ample space, charging power outlets at each seating, larger overhead bins, and a quieter and improved Boeing Sky Interior.
Improved Passenger Experience:
Crew members on board trumpeted the advanced features of the aircraft and how passengers would be far more comfortable. The aircraft is customized for Air India Express with new onboard ovens to do meals and differently crafted seat designs, promising a far finer flying experience.
This Boeing 737-8 becomes the 51st such aircraft inducted after Air India Express became a part of the Tata group. The airline now operates more than 100 aircraft, thus becoming the country’s largest Boeing operator. Its growth has also been marked by the recent induction of Airbus A321neos, A320neos and A320ceos. Air India Express is retrofitting its present Boeing 737-8 fleet with new seats to maintain consistency in its network. In all, 50 aircraft are programmed for retrofitting.
