Nissan India ends 2025 strong on exports, readies fresh product push

Industrywiz Daily updates

Nissan Motor’s Indian operation ended the year 2025 on a positive note, thanks to a steep increase in exports, which underlines the growing importance of the country as a production base for the Japanese automaker. The month saw a consolidated sale of 15,372 units in December, mainly due to exports at a record high of 13,470 units. The domestic wholesales for the month came at 1,902 units. This further solidifies the Company’s export strategy despite plans for a fresh foray into the Indian market.

The exports segment has been identified as a major growth driver for Nissan Motor in India, which reached 1.2 million cumulative vehicle exports from India in 2025. The company has reported that 2025 was a year of consolidation and setting the foundations for a new product push. During this year, the company unveiled their future lineup, where they showed the design and naming of two new cars that will soon hit the market – the Gravite and the Tekton.

Nissan has announced plans to launch a new GRAVITE, a 7-seater B-MPV, on January 21, followed by a global launch of Nissan Tekton, a 5-seater C-SUV, on February 4. A 7-seater C-SUV will follow in 2027. These will see Nissan reach a more extensive range of the fastest-growing segments in India. These models will be manufactured in India and will also include exports.

Sustaining the growing business, Nissan is also expanding its dealership and services. Nissan has plans to increase the dealership network to 250 by the end of FY2027, with new 3S facilities established in the state of Himachal Pradesh and Punjab.

As Nissan enters the year 2026, it is hoping that a distinctive lineup offering and export success will serve as a recipe for translating strategic success into a sustainable market expansion offered by the world’s most competitive auto market.
