The 22nd Stakeholders’ Interaction Meet was organized by Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd. (IREDA) at the India International Centre in New Delhi, under the guidance of Chairman & Managing Director Pradip Kumar Das. Around 100 borrowers and business associates from the renewable energy industry actively took part in this session. The session included a presentation that highlighted the recent achievements, financial performance, major initiatives, and Action Taken Report on past concerns of IREDA.
Focus on asset quality and corporate governance:
Das stressed the importance of asset quality and corporate governance as core to the sustainability of IREDA. When asked about the interest rate, he stated that IREDA’s plan is to tap funds from the cheapest sources available to the benefit of developers, as per the directives of the RBI to promote the growth of the renewable energy industry, in line with the vision of the Government of India.
Improving leadership and efficiency:
Moreover, Das emphasized the importance of MSME developers, terming them the backbone of the economy that is essential for realizing the Viksit Bharat Sankalp in 2047. He encouraged MSMEs to maintain robust corporate governance to ensure access to funds from lenders at lower costs. Improvements in the human resource component of IREDA were also highlighted, with a better team at all levels of management identified from different state-owned companies, banks, and private companies, as well as Executive Trainees from elite institutions to improve effectiveness.
