The IESA Vision Summit 2026 was launched by the India Electronics & Semiconductor Association in Bengaluru, bringing together academics, start-ups, international industry executives, and policymakers to hasten India’s transition from a pioneer in chip design to a major player in semiconductor manufacturing.
The focus of the two-day summit, which took place at the Leela Bhartiya City Convention Centre, was Design to Manufacturing: Synergy of Product, Production, and Skill. It was obvious what the focus was. India has to close the gap between its competitive domestic fabrication, packaging, and systems manufacturing and its strong semiconductor design capabilities.
Together with international executives and investors, senior representatives from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the Government of Karnataka, and the India Semiconductor Mission presented the next stage of India’s electronics and semiconductor plan.
From manufacturing scale to design leadership:
With international chip makers running significant design centers all around the nation, India has become a global center for talent in semiconductor design. Leaders emphasised that creating an integrated value chain encompassing sophisticated packaging, fabrication, systems integration, and the creation of a competent workforce is the next stage.
The India Semiconductor Mission’s role in promoting policy support, infrastructure development, and long-term ecosystem growth was emphasised at the summit. Global trends toward resilient and varied semiconductor supply chains were also discussed, giving India the chance to establish itself as a reliable partner.
The establishment of the Indian Design, Semiconductors, Packaging, and Systems division under IESA was one of the event’s major announcements. The new platform seeks to improve long-term research and development.
Developing deep tech innovation and talent:
The agenda was centred on research and skill development. Karnataka, home to hundreds of R&D centers and a major contributor to India’s electronics production, demonstrated its legislative framework to draw in semiconductor investments.
With more than 30 keynote addresses and numerous panel discussions, the summit attracted more than 1,500 delegates on its first day. Highlights were the Technovation Awards, which honoured achievements in the field of electronics system design and production, and the conclusion of the IESA DeepTech Hackathon 2026.
With the convergence of global relationships, industry involvement, and policy alignment, the IESA Vision Summit 2026 set up India’s semiconductor ecosystem for its next stage of expansion.
