Amneal Pharmaceuticals has opened a new administrative office in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, after an investment of about Rs 135 crore (US$15 million). This will help the company’s Indian employees work better and foster cooperation throughout its international operations.
Located at Cliantha Road, the 335,000 square feet office can house about 1,200 employees. The new office building will help integrate key departments and provide additional capacity for Amneal’s growing operations in India.
New office enhances India’s contribution to global operations:
The company has built capabilities in manufacturing, research & development, quality and commercial operations in India. These operations help to sustain the company’s global network through the United States, India and Ireland, along with its commercial office in Mumbai. In August, Amneal Pharmaceuticals acquired Kashiv BioSciences, expanding its biosimilar development and manufacturing capabilities globally.
“With this new Ahmedabad office, Amneal continues to invest in the people and capabilities that enable the operation of our global business. India is a vital part of our network that complements our significant and growing manufacturing capability in the US,” said Chirag Patel, co-founder and co-chief executive officer of Amneal.
“‘Our colleagues in India are playing an important role in the advancement of our research, development, manufacturing and commercial operations at Amneal. This new office is a facility that brings together these teams and allows us to continue working with them in a collaborative environment. By bringing our people and expertise together through our global network, we can enhance our execution, develop more complex medicines, and deliver for our patients.’”
Expansion of manufacturing in Gujarat:
As part of its growth strategy, Amneal has also started working on developing two greenfield manufacturing plants in Gujarat that will be involved in the development of peptides and sterile fill finish manufacturing for the future portfolio of products.
This new office and expansion in manufacturing are a part of Amneal’s strategy in India, where it plans to build on its capabilities and collaborate for improving access to quality medicines.”
