A new manufacturing unit for cooling solutions for AI data centres and other critical infrastructure that include AHUs, FWUs and CRAHs has been set up by FläktGroup of Samsung Electronics in Pune, Maharashtra as Samsung expands operations into the data centres and HVAC space.
FläktGroup, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Samsung, intends to gradually scale-up production at the new manufacturing facility to up to 6,500 HVAC units per year.
New Pune plant boosts local manufacturing:
The new manufacturing facility spreads over an area of approximately 13,826 sq m and is close to Mumbai and key logistics facilities. The company stated that this will help in faster delivery of products to customers in India as well as the Asia Pacific region.
In a span of six months after installation of the plant machinery, mass production commenced. This is the first new manufacturing facility that has come up for FläktGroup post Samsung’s acquisition of the HVAC specialist in November 2025.
The Pune facility further strengthens the existing manufacturing capacity of FläktGroup in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
AI-infrastructure cooling portfolio:
AHUs, FWUs, and CRAHs will be manufactured at the Pune plant. AHUs have the capability of regulating indoor temperature and improving air quality through the usage of chilled water and are commonly found in data centers and large commercial buildings.
FWUs are designed with several powerful fans to cool server environments, whereas CRAHs offer management of temperature, humidity, and air quality of mission-critical IT equipment.
Samsung revealed that the Pune plant will allow Samsung to integrate HVAC and critical cooling expertise from FläktGroup with AI and technology expertise of Samsung to facilitate cooling solutions for AI data centers and other infrastructure sectors.
The firm noted that Pune production will cater to domestic and foreign markets in Asia-Pacific.
