Industrywiz Daily updates

Mahindra Farm Equipment Business (FEB), belonging to Mahindra & Mahindra Limited, has crossed the cumulative production mark of 70 lakh tractors, indicating a noteworthy accomplishment in the growth journey of the firm which has become one of the largest makers of tractors globally from the perspective of volume production. The success story marks more than six decades of growth in the realm of agricultural mechanization.

According to the company, this success is attributed to the long-term emphasis of the firm on farm mechanization, innovation in product and expansion in manufacturing. It has developed and marketed different types of products under Mahindra Tractors, Swaraj Tractors and Gromax brands. In total, there are more than 350 tractor models and variants that Mahindra FEB manufactures along with farm machinery.

Strong sales boost growth trajectory:

The success in achieving this milestone came after a good financial year performance of the business. Mahindra FEB has been able to sell over 526,000 tractors during FY26, helped by new product offerings and high demand both in domestic and export markets. Recent new product launches include Mahindra 585 YUVO TECH+ V1, Mahindra NOVO Premium Edition, and Swaraj Protek range.

The company plans to launch seven tractors and 12 features in FY27. The plan indicates the company’s objective to promote technology innovation and meet the changing needs of the agriculture industry.

Mahindra Tractors, established in 1963, has its manufacturing units in Mumbai, Nagpur, Zaheerabad, Rudrapur, Jaipur, and Rajkot, along with R&D activities in Chennai. Swaraj Tractors has a strong manufacturing and R&D unit in Mohali, while Gromax Agri Equipment functions out of Vadodara through a joint venture model.

Global footprint expansion:

Mahindra FEB functions in over 50 markets across the globe and is the world leader in tractors in terms of volumes. The US is the company’s second-largest market after India, backed by over 30 years of experience and two manufacturing units in the region.

In addition, the firm is also diversifying into smart agricultural machinery solutions, ranging from land preparations all the way to post-harvest activities. With the global launch of the Mahindra OJA solution, the company is increasingly embedding engineering, technological and agricultural knowledge into its products development processes. With mechanization of agriculture still undergoing development, the latest production achievement at Mahindra is a testament not only to the scale of their manufacturing but also to the growing influence of technologically driven machinery in agriculture.
