The Škoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited (SAVWIPL) was bestowed with the ‘Automobile: Top Exporter’ for FY 2025-26 by the Mumbai Port Authority due to its major contributions in exports. This award was received at the Business Conclave. At this event, it came to light that SAVWIPL had exported more than 40,000 vehicles from Mumbai Port during FY 2025-26. The award was received on behalf of the company by Amit Madan, Vice President – Logistics Region India.

This recognition clearly reflects SAVWIPL’s contributions towards manufacturing automobiles in India, which is also in line with the Make in India movement. Earlier, SAVWIPL had been honoured with the title of ‘Top Exporter 2023-2024’, demonstrating the company’s success in exporting vehicles worldwide, where it exported more than 725,000 vehicles till date.

Diversification of export products and increasing global presence:

Škoda Auto Volkswagen India Pvt. Ltd. (SAVWIPL) located at Pune, is diversifying its export offerings from fully-built models of Volkswagen Taigun, Virtus, Škoda Kushaq, and Slavia to exporting parts and components as well. The company is striving to increase the importance of India within the operations of the Group globally and exploring new export markets, including Sri Lanka.

Having successfully exported more than 725,000 vehicles, SAVWIPL operates with two production plants with a total capacity of 315,000 per year and has already manufactured over 2 million vehicles up until 2025. SAVWIPL enhances localisation through INDIA 2.0 programme and has been increasing the production of local models. The company is regarded as the top employer and is working with sustainable mobility and innovations in ICE and BEV.
