TKM has made a MoU with the Gujarat government towards improving education and skills development as well as health care facilities across the region. The projects will help more than 9.67 lakh people by ensuring proper learning facilities and healthcare services.
Expanding learning and digital education facilities:
As per the MoU, Toyota will help the region develop several community learning projects to encourage learning among people. Toyota has established several community libraries where the people of all age groups can easily come and learn. These community libraries have air conditioners, security surveillance system using CCTV cameras and solar-powered facilities and will help more than three lakh students.
To improve digital education and learning among the students of rural areas, Toyota has started a Mobile Computer Education Electric Bus in Surat. This mobile bus will serve the students of five blocks in Surat district and help them become technologically sound and aware of computers. This program will benefit about 8,000 students.
Skills development and healthcare:
In order to develop skills among youth, T-KM has launched the Toyota Technical Education Program (T-TEP) at Government ITI, Jamnagar. Through this programme, advanced automotive service and maintenance skills would be taught to the students in 29 different trades, such as Mechanic Motor Vehicle, Fitter and Painter. It is estimated that about 3,700 students would be benefitted under this initiative.
To improve healthcare services, the company is providing important medical equipment to Community Health Centers in Rajkot. These steps will help rural areas gain access to quality healthcare services and it is estimated that about 6.5 lakhs of people would be benefitted.
Emphasis on long-term community development:
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by senior government officials, including Union Home Minister, Amit Shah, and Gujarat Chief Minister, Bhupendrabhai Patel.
