India’s efforts to enhance its defense manufacturing capabilities will see a boost with the announcement by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited to build a fighter plane factory at Puttaparthi. This plan is estimated to involve investments worth around Rs 1 lakh crore.

It is anticipated that the proposed factory will manufacture next generation fighters, in line with India’s vision to increase indigenous manufacturing of defense goods.
