Moon e-bikes are introduced by CollarEV for B2B delivery fleets.

Industrywiz Daily updates

CollarEV has launched an Electric Two-Wheeler named ‘Moon’ designed for the B2B delivery and logistics segment in India. The E-Bike is designed for durability and performance to meet the increasing need for cost-effective Electric Mobility in the delivery segment. The two-wheeler market is estimated to be around 20 million units in 2025, with Electric Two-Wheelers contributing to this number at 1.4 million units.

Performance and Battery Capacity:

The Electric Two-Wheelers have a range of 135 km per charge using a 2.3 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate battery with fast charging capability to charge the battery to 80 percent in just 2 hours. The Electric Two-Wheelers have a BLDC Hub Motor with a rated power output of 1500 W and a peak power output of 2200 W, clocking a top speed of 50 km/h and a torque output of 95 Nm to carry loads up to 150 kg.

Purpose-built design for commercial fleets:

Speaking on the new EV, Tikendra Yadav, from CollarEV, stated, “A large part of the existing B2B electric two-wheeler market in India is dominated by low-cost imported electric vehicles, which are facing issues in terms of durability and after-sales support. With our new EV in the B2B space, our aim is to fill this existing gap in the market with the development of a purpose-built electric vehicle with a minimalist yet robust structural design, which minimises maintenance requirements while delivering performance. The fully metal chassis and body structure are best suited for commercial use cases, reflecting our focus on building reliable electric vehicles for the business sector, and as part of our vision, we are now preparing to launch this B2C electric scooter in the market during May/June, targeting the growing consumer EV market.”

Connectivity features:

To cater to the current needs of fleet management, a new electric two-wheeler comes with advanced connectivity features, including a TFT display with telematics integration for effective tracking, in addition to a keyless start/stop function, allowing for the integration of multi-utility attachments for varied needs in the logistics space.

The vehicle is powered by an LFP battery pack, which gives it over 1000 charging cycles, thus providing greater longevity. Additionally, CollarEV also provides a battery replacement or upgrade for a lifetime, as well as IoT technology for battery health monitoring. Furthermore, the company is also looking into integrating supercapacitor technology with the battery for faster charging, durability, and lifespan.

Market for the Electric Vehicle:

The target market for the electric vehicle is last-mile delivery, logistics, aggregators, and delivery personnel. The vehicle can also be used for daily activities, milk delivery, vegetable delivery, rural areas, and agricultural supplies, especially for Tier-3 and Tier-4 areas. The launch of the vehicle is planned for Tier-1 and Tier-2 areas, as well as rural and semi-urban areas, as there is a growing demand for electric vehicles.
