Hindustan Zinc Ltd has inked a strategic pact with Tripura Group to establish a manufacturing facility at its upcoming Zinc Park in Rajasthan. The initiative has been touted as the first integrated downstream zinc industrial ecosystem in India, which aims to facilitate investment, enhance domestic manufacturing, and unlock new value streams from the zinc sector.

Hindustan Zinc Ltd (HZL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tripura Group. The pact is centered on facilitating the establishment of a manufacturing facility at Hindustan Zinc’s flagship Zinc Park at Khankhala in the Bhilwara district of Rajasthan.
As per the pact, Hindustan Zinc will provide a guaranteed supply of raw materials to the proposed manufacturing facility of Tripura Group. The pact includes a long-term offtake agreement, which will provide a significant fillip to the development of a robust downstream zinc value chain.
Speaking on the occasion, Arun Misra, Chief Executive Officer, Hindustan Zinc, said, “Zinc Park is a strategic move that embodies our vision of a robust and competitive metal value chain in a practical manner. Our collaboration with Tripura Group reiterates how focused collaboration can help unlock downstream value and facilitate Make-in-India production. The guaranteed supply chain, along with performance-linked incentives and renewable energy commitments, will give investors the impetus to scale up. We are committed to building an ecosystem that fosters MSME development, local employment, and technology advancements in the zinc metal value chain.”
Partnership enhances ecosystem vision:
The addition of Tripura Group, with its rich experience in beneficiation inputs and process optimization for metal processing, is expected to enhance the efficiency and quality of inputs for downstream sectors.
Hindustan Zinc, a Vedanta Group company, is in talks with other potential investors while simultaneously developing the Zinc Park in a phased manner, with sustainability and skill development at the forefront.
