Kabelschlepp India, a subsidiary of the Tsubaki Group, has further strengthened its manufacturing capabilities by setting up a state-of-the-art Vertical Machining Center (VMC) at its Indian facility. This technology, combined with advanced robotic solutions, will take precision manufacturing to the next level.

In this combined system, an industrial robot works in perfect synergy with the VMC—responsible for the picking of raw material components, accurate placement of the components into fixtures, and subsequent removal of the manufactured parts after machining. This robotic loading and unloading system brings a new level of sophistication to traditional machining, making it a smarter and more efficient manufacturing process.

The inauguration marks the strategic expansion of the company in the Indian market:

The inauguration ceremony included key addresses by Henning Preis, President & CEO of the Kabelschlepp Group, Jörg Schulz, Vice President of Production, and Srinivas P. Kamisetty, Managing Director of Kabelschlepp India, marking the strategic importance of the Indian market to the company’s global expansion plans.

The new VMC is a precision CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machine, specializing in advanced milling, drilling, tapping, and multi-axis machining operations. Featuring a vertical spindle configuration, an automatic tool changer, and a state-of-the-art CNC control system, it offers improved accuracy, repeatability, and productivity. This technology is expected to boost overall productivity by 30 percent, while at the same time reducing setup and cycle times by 50 percent, thus doubling productivity.

Preis reiterated the significance of the Indian market to their global operations, saying, “The commissioning of this advanced VMC is a testament to our commitment to enhance local manufacturing capabilities, efficiency, and the adoption of world-class quality standards. Kamisetty added, “This investment is a manifestation of our strategy to focus on enhancing manufacturing flexibility and advancements. With the introduction of the Vertical Machining Center, we are working to improve productivity and precision while reaffirming our commitment to local manufacturing, thus shortening lead times and improving quality consistency in meeting our varied customer requirements.”
