TVS Supply Chain Solutions has bagged an important three-year contract to take care of in-plant warehousing operations at Daimler India Commercial Vehicles’ Chennai manufacturing plant. The contract involves the use of 700 people and the latest technologies such as IoT and automation. The contract aims at improving the production efficiency of Daimler India Commercial Vehicles.
TVS SCS bags significant deal in India:
TVS Supply Chain Solutions Ltd has announced Monday it has won a three-year contract with Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV) to provide services related to warehouse management operations at the latter’s manufacturing unit at Chennai.
Deployment & Scope:
As many as 700 workers from the company, TVS SCS, will be deployed for this contract. The company, TVS SCS, will be responsible for managing the entire warehouse process at DICV through its commitment to ensuring material flow and maintaining optimized levels.
Technology Integration:
The latest technology would form the heart of the operations. TVS SCS would incorporate IoT tracking systems to enable real-time visibility, automation systems to eliminate manual intervention, predictive analytics to enable better planning, and digital dashboards to monitor operations centrally. These systems are expected to strengthen the manufacturing environment of DICV and its focus on quality.
Strategic Importance:
Sukumar K, CEO of India & MEA at TVS Supply Chain Solutions, asserted that their experience at the global level with Daimler and their knowhow in in-plant logistics & automation make them poised to create efficiencies that can be measured. Rounding out this panel discussion was C Muthu Maruthachalam, President & COO of Daimler India Commercial Vehicles, India, who emphasized that in-plant logistics had played an important role in their production success.

The stock of TVS Supply Chain Solutions Ltd closed at ₹106.49 on the BSE on January 12, down by ₹0.66, or 0.62%.
