Robo Cleaners: This is an advanced cleaning system developed by “Sidhu Engineering Works,” used specifically for cleaning the wire and felt section of a paper machine. Till date, 35 systems have been installed by the manufacturer, which is a proof of how effectively the cleaning system works.
The paper machine carries out three primary operations with its distinct parts, which include the formation of the sheet and dewatering of the pulp sheet (wire part), the compression of the paper sheet (press part), and drying of the paper sheet (dryer part). Each of these processes has to make use of a form of belt for the transport of the pulp sheet to move to the next part. The formation of the pulp sheet from the pulp takes place within the wire part and carries out the dewatering of the wire (forming the fabric by the use of polyamide). The compression of the paper sheet also takes place within the press part and uses the felt for the compression and absorption of the water within the dryer part for the compression of the web firmly against the dryer to enhance the flow of heat with the SLDF (CFM).
Although such materials need regular cleaning, for the case of press and wire part, there is constant cleaning done using conventional shower systems. The conventional shower systems for cleaning are heavy users of water. There are a few options available for cleaning the SLDF production process, but they are extremely expensive and less efficient. Presently, because of the increasing usage of OCC/recycled fiber, the need for cleaning is becoming more and more prominent because of the following reasons: increased production of fines, formation of stickies, and other contaminants.
Robo Cleaners
An advanced cleaning technology has been developed by Sidhu Engineering Works. The Company is already supplying solutions to clean wire and felt using the Robo Cleaning system. Till now, they have installed 35 systems, and according to the Company, they have been able to reduce water usage drastically and achieved increased CD moisture profile improvement.
A cleaner has been developed recently by SLDF, namely “Robo Dryer Screen Cleaner.” It is being used successfully on many machines. It is a continuous and modern machinery system, which is one-of-its-kind and an innovative “Made in India” product.
How SLDF Robo Cleaner Works and its Importance
Robo Cleaners have a robotic head which oscillates in a linear manner. We have modified the design of a robotic head in the Robo Cleaners with a number of nozzles and different open area in the very same head. A jet from the nozzles hits the SLDF with high pressure, and at the very same time, the vacuum sucks the contaminants and removes these from the system. One air knife is also provided for enhanced cleaning.
In case of wire and felts showers being in continuous or intermittently operational, the conventional showers enable the paper mills to maintain the normal operative conditions and in meeting the optimum process levels.
